Author M.J. André writes with compassion in, Apprehended and Apprehending. Based on Philippians 3:10-12, this book has been birthed from the author's own seven-year wilderness season.  It is the author's hopes and sincere desire to bring others to a new life in Him and to true salvation.  The author reveals from Scripture, elaborating on what true Christianity is and what it is not.  In this radical new book, the author delves into what true Christianity really means and what it means to walk after Christ and in the Spirit.  If we are to come into full spiritual maturity, we are to abide in Christ and surrender ourselves completely to His will.

Developed as a guidebook, this book will provide refreshment and answers to questions for those that may be going through their own wilderness experiences.  The reader will find life-giving refreshment, truth and find the truth that is in Christ.  Providing much needed encouragement through the wilderness process, the author notes that this is the only way to God.  We experience the true Christian life when we abide in Him and are changed from the inside out to reflect the character of Christ here on this Earth.  Salvation is not a one-way ticket to Heaven, although, "True Salvation is nothing short of possessing the heart of God the Father," the author emphatically writes.

The work of salvation has many stages, all requiring complete dedication, surrender, perseverance and endurance as one continues on to win the prize as spoken of in Philippians 3:10-12.  The prize is not what many preach from the pulpit that tickles the ears of the hearer; however, the prize is God himself and having the heart of the Father.  Salvation is a gift from the unmerited grace of God bestowed for those who are truly called. 

The author asks-do we truly know Christ and walk with him?  Have we surrendered ourselves fully to know His will?  This is what the Scripture in Philippians speaks of; we live, only to know Him.  The Promised Land and the abundant life do not coming from repeating the sinner's prayer and sitting in church every Sunday.

This book is highly recommended for those Saints that have fully surrendered their life to the Lord, but may need encouragement and guidance as they experience their own wilderness seasons.  One can find deep hope and a greater understanding and maturity in the Lord after reading this book.  A must read for the entire body of Christ!

The scene plays out like one from a dramatic film or a gripping novel…

Hot wind whips across the flat, dry land, blowing dust into the eyes of a frail young mother. She tries to blink it away, along with her tears. Sitting in the shade of a scrawny tree, she holds her only son - ten months old, thirsty and weak. The dehydration was taking its grim toll.

Their water supply now used up, her husband had set out to look for another water source - that was two days ago. It was the third time this year he had left on such a journey, not knowing what he would find, nor what he would come back to. But there was no choice, because there was no water. All she could do now was wait.

The young mother's tears fell onto her son's dry, chapped skin. She bowed her head and whispered, "Just one more day…please let me have him just one more day." She knew not to whom she was praying or that she even was praying. No one had told her of a God who heard her, loved her and wept with her. She held her child close, not knowing how much longer she would have with him…

It's a nightmare that makes us want to change the channel or close the book, but sadly, it is the cruel reality for millions of people in developing countries. The Book of Jude is God's call and instruction to living a godly life in a woefully sinful world. This fascinating Bible study prepares one to beware, be ready and to walk in faith and truth while exalting, "…high the cross of Christ." We are to be ready and prepared by the Word of God, walking and standing upon the truth-for God's Word is truth and inspired by God (2 Tim. 3:16).

In this way, we will be prepared to stand firm in our faith on the day of testing throughout these perilous times. The Book of Jude issues a warning and heed for all those who believe in the Truth to walk in the light and issues a call to those that are living ungodly lives to come back to the Truth, Jesus Christ, before judgment comes.

Study questions are included at the end. This Bible study is highly recommended for personal use and edification or within a small group setting. Henry candidly shares her heartfelt journey on a road to recovery with God in her new release, There is a Miracle in 21: God Completes!  Her story is one that many women find themselves in – finding themselves in a place of complete discontentment.  No doubt that we all have struggles and life is sometimes not a bowl full of cherries, but as the author proclaims triumphantly from her book - with God we are more than conquerors in Christ and all things are possible with Him.  There's one requirement – you've got to give him your mess (life) before He can fix it.  She writes to encourage, inspire and give hope to others that are going through their own struggles so that they may find hope, love, forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Lorieen D.
